PHP Simple Swear Filter
February 2013

When writing software to keep a public server list of War of the Voxels servers, I needed a PHP library that could filter server names for offensive words. As a result, I created the PHP Simple Swear Filter, which has the ability to detect variations of words in the filter. Commonly, people bypass swear filters by replaceing a particular character with another similar character (e.g. replacing pop with p0p). PHP Simple Swear Filter combats this by maintaining a collection of replacement characters and searching for possible permutations of a word.
